Pilates Collective is Canadian-owned ,local business serving the Red Deer Community that opened its doors in November 2025. We are offering high quality, highly personalized small size group and private training classes that are designed to help you not only build strength and flexibility, but also to improve your overall quality of life.

The Collective

Our studio is a welcoming and supportive space where you can focus on your Pilates journey. We aim to create a welcoming community where our members support each other throughout their fitness journeys, fostering friendships and motivation. Originally from Mongolia, Burney began her journey as a professional dancer at the age of ten. Years of intensive training combined with the physical demand, led her to seek a practice that was both restorative and deeply effective. Pilates became that balance. After moving to Canada in 2020, she became a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instruct

Originally from Mongolia, Burney began her journey as a professional dancer at the age of ten. Years of intensive training combined with the physical demand, led her to seek a practice that was both restorative and deeply effective. Pilates became that balance. After moving to Canada in 2020, she became a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor and discovered firsthand how Pilates transformed her energy, strength, and overall well-being.

Burney brings her rich background in movement and her personal journey of transformation to every class—helping others reconnect with their bodies and live with greater vitality and balance.

With a Bachelor of Kinesiology and over three decades of experience in the fitness industry, Janine brings both expertise and heart to every class she teaches. A STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor since 2007 and a CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP), she combines scientific knowledge with mindful movement to help clients build confidence, strength, and ease in their bodies.

Janine is passionate about guiding others to discover how Pilates can transform the way they feel and move—both in and out of the studio. Her caring approach and attention to detail create a supportive environment where every client feels seen, valued, and encouraged to reach their personal best.

When she’s not teaching, Janine enjoys spending time in her garden, baking, and exploring new places.

Sharon has been in the fitness industry for 15 years, teaching group fitness in a variety of formats. She has long been an advocate of healthy living and the importance of full body fitness and especially the importance of the core as the driving engine in a healthy body.  Her natural path was then to become a Pilates instructor, obtainin

Sharon has been in the fitness industry for 15 years, teaching group fitness in a variety of formats. She has long been an advocate of healthy living and the importance of full body fitness and especially the importance of the core as the driving engine in a healthy body.  Her natural path was then to become a Pilates instructor, obtaining her Pilates Comprehensive Certification in 2023.  

Sharon taught in the public school system in a junior high school for many years. Her education career path found her teaching at a post secondary institution as a sessional instructor in Edmonton as well as being a consultant for curriculum implementation in central Alberta. She currently also works as a Field Instructor for the University of Calgary.

  • A foundational Pilates class designed to build strength, stability, and body awareness. 
  • Perfect for beginners or those returning to Pilates. You will learn the principles of Pilates, safe modifications and essential exercises that create a strong foundation for progress. 
  • Expect full body workout using the mat and small props.

  •  This class is designed for all levels and aims to build a solid foundation in flexibility, stability and proper core engagement while focusing on building strength and alignment. 
  •  You will use small props, and the full reformer.

Mat / Stability Chair

  • A dynamic full body Pilates class for those ready to take their practice to the next level. Expect a faster flow, deep core activation and greater emphasize on precision, coordination, and control. This class  uses the full reformer, tower equipment and small props.

In this class foundational exercises on the mat will progress to using the same principles on the stability chair

  • tionBecause the stability chair is a supportive piece of  equipment, it will help you to move the spine in all plains of movement to increase range of mo, reducing lower back stifness to build strenth, balance and stability through a full-body workout.

  • This class combines the precision and deep core engagement of the Mat Pilates with the dynamic resistance and versatility of the Cadillac tower exercises. This class emphasizes mindful movement, proper form, and controlled transitions for maximum results and minimum strain.
  • This class uses the elevated mat on the reformer, small props and the tower equipment. 

Stability Chair Mix

  • This class builds on the Mat/Stability Chair class foundations. For those ready to add more challenging sequences, transitions, and variations, you will focus on improving strength, flexibility, and coordination. It will target muscles you didn't know you had while also offering functional benefits for everyday movement.
  •  This circuit workout uses a mix of all the available equipment at the studio.
